Angels communicate to us through objects (i.e. feathers), numbers, verbally and some people can even see angels!
The first time I heard an angel, I was as work. I was standing in the hallway next to a fire exit stairwell chatting with a few co-workers. I heard a voice loud and clear, just like you hear someone standing next to you, say, “Hi Kristen.” I looked around and didn’t see anyone new join the conversation, where it would make sense to start off saying “hello.” It seemed like the voice was 9 feet above me next to the Exit sign pointing to the stairwell.
At the time, I had no idea it was an angel. I figured it was another co-worker passing by quickly that I missed or someone new joined the circle and she would say it again. It didn’t happen. No one had walked by, no one else joined the group. No one in the group said anything about a new person walking by or joining the conversation or about the “Hi Kristen.”
I told my wonderful friend who receives messages from above what happened. She said matter of factly to next time say “hello” back. Oh, how I wish I had known that at the time! I would have looked crazy talking to “thin air” in front of my co-workers so I know it was God’s plan for me not to have talked back at that time.
The second time I heard an angel was in the middle of the night. I was sleeping and a whisper woke me up.
It was February 23, 2016, the night before I was to leave to go on a business trip to Florida. I wasn’t particularly looking forward to it. I know, a free trip to Florida in the middle of an East Coast winter and I wasn’t looking forward to it?! Maybe it’s my love for routine, being a creature of habit or the constant nag that I needed to help people beyond my career but didn’t know how and the frustration of not being able to express myself.
I was stressed because very unlike me, I was not ready to go. I am usually very organized, ahead of schedule, and it was 10pm and I wasn’t even packed (gasp!). My flight left in 9 hours and I still needed to pack and sleep! I was getting cranky because I was tired, unorganized, and had an unpredictable commute to the city’s airport in rush hour traffic looming above me.
I finally started packing ruthlessly, the fastest I ever packed in my life. I threw together clothes, shoes, pajamas haphazardly and figured I’d figure it out later. This is so unlike me!
I eventually went to sleep around midnight, way too late, and I was woken up suddenly with the faintest whisper next to my bed. I bolted up knowing it was an angel. I was so tired, and it was so unexpected and the tiniest whisper, I didn’t know and still don’t know what he/she said, all I know it was an angel trying to get my attention again.
Next time, I will talk back!
This past Saturday (February 18, 2017), I started planning my next blog posts and drafting posts. I came up with a series called “Hello,” to continue from my first post. I have an app created by Doreen Virtue installed on my cell phone called, “Archangel Raphael Guidance.” I have it programmed to send me an encouraging message every 4 hours from 8am-8pm. At noon, the message was, “Because you’re sensitive, you may sometimes feel too shy to say Hello. I am giving you the courage.”
If this isn’t a sign that I am on the right path, I don’t know what is!
